Weekend Leadership Seminar - May 15th-17th

Its been very long since I’ve written in the blog. I’ve wanted to write much things but then again, I realized by just writing it won’t change much of my career, my business, my attitude, and much more things if I don’t take any actions.

WLS

During last Weekend Leadership Seminar, I’ve learnt a lot about importance of edifying peers and above, as well as family matters that will make the desire to be better in life burn even more. Rajan expressed much on how distraction can change paths of our lives if we don’t believe in our dreams, if we don’t believe in what we are doing. His pilot-to-be story did relate much to me.

I’ve been in that situation a few times. I’ve wanted so much to be a Pilot, but then the “afraid of height” thing scares me up to almost not even trying. I’ve wanted so much to study overseas to Japan, but then when the opportunity arrives I let it go just because I think my family didn’t have enough money. How I realized that I am so wrong that Go’ment scholarships were big enough, my friends could even buy cars and travel to Europe. I’ve dreamt to Double Grad 2008, which is to graduate my study (that I did), and finished the G7 mountains. I planned it all, but then again, I just let the opportunity go.

Past are just past, so don’t look back, and just continue ahead! Thank god I didn’t let go the opportunity to be in the network !

I remembered the 4 D’s (not digits though). Desire-Determination-Dedication-Decision. And furthermore, the 5th D is what we have been thought to be the mother of all, The Dream. How to explode more and be successful in life? It’s the few keywords they taught during the seminar ;

- To Sink or To Swim?
- Its not the words you say, but the Desire you Play!
- Just Knowing is nothing. Doing is everything.
- If you r not LC, Be LC. If you are, Help others to be LC.
- Build Depth, coz depth is everything.
- You will do what it takes to the finishing line!, not what’s convenient
- Recondition your mind to have it and believe it!.

It was a great seminar for me and for all of us. Its not only the talk, but the great atmosphere that made us felt so positively driven. Long before, maybe we did thought of why we need the biz anyway? Why? Functions, cd’s and seminars did really taught us, that we don’t need to wait till the WHY to slap our face and urge us to start, we just need to start earlier and make it ready when we need it the most. Like Peter Cox’s theme song said, Dream catch me when I fall.

Now, its time to change. Next seminar will be in August, and I just can’t wait for it as the speaker is so special! Its Mat’s Holmberg from Sweden!

Business Building Seminar

The Business Building Seminar, 26-Apr-09, PGRM CHERAS.

It was a great talk from the speakers. Invitational speaker Mr Bani/Quim, and a local speaker Mr Mustak. Mr Bani is an engineering consultant by profession and an independant business owner from Singapore. Each BBS has its own specialty. Bani speaks much of the experiences in his business, as well as sharing his experience talking with the author of the book Business School & Rich Dad Poor Dad, Mr Robert Kiyosaki.

Bani asked Kiyosaki how to make himself a millionaire? Kiyosaki answered him simply,
"1st, you find out WHY?, coz without why, you'd never be a millionaire"

The Last Lecture

I think Bani likes audio visual presentation style as the BBS was filled with inspirational video clips from various sources. One of the is the most touching of all. It was a clip from Dr Randy Pausch, a PHD doctor who was giving his last lecture not only for the viewers of Oprah, but specifically for his 3 child. It was a speech on why we dream, how to achieve a dream, and how the dream will come true. Why last lecture? Watch the clip closely and think deep.

Personal Branding

Mr Mustak talks much about sales effectiveness esp on personal branding. Sales Effectiveness depends on 3 parts which are the personal branding, skills and attitude. It is most of the time, not about the value, but the Brand.

He teaches that in business, personal branding makes the 1st impression. Personal branding also depends on Who Knows You?, What Value You Have? and What Do They Know About You?

Protect Your Dream

Its Mr Bani's second slot and he put on the clip as an introduction. This clip also makes impact much. You just need to protect your dream in order to make it come true.

Make The Dream as Goals. And in any goals, it needs to be set-wise and it needs to be smart. Goal setting is important. Why?
- It provides direction
- Allow us to push ourselves to the time limit
- It separates important things from distraction
- Builds up confidence, as more confidence brings more posture.

5 W's Learnt
- Why Do it?
- What you need to do?
- Who is involved?
- Where are you heading to?
- When it is completed?

3 Important C's
- Commit to the dream.
- Commence the effort.
- Complete the goal.

Begin with The End in the mind. Think of the rewards and push the time to make it the soonest.

If you live your live the live the right way, if you live a proper live, The Dream will come to You.

Smart Money Board Game

If you have read Robert Kiyosaki's books, you might have ran through parts that recommend you to play "The Rat Race" / "Cashflow 101".

In Malaysia, it is commonly known as the Smart Money Board Game, which is a part of the Financial Intelligence Workshop, non-profit event organized to educate people on managing their finance and passive income.

There are 6 players in each game, and conducted by a Coach (a.k.a The Banker) at each board. During the workshop, the invited speaker will show and guide the game momentum, as well as give talks on how to manage our money intelligently. I've played the game quite a number of times at KL, and I am so lucky to have two games conducted by a successful independent business owner, Mr Simon Thompson

Simon Thompson

Simon Thompson is an successful independent business owner who has been creating a large number of passive income through the idea from Robert Kiyosaki's books. He is a great speaker and coach of the Smart Money Game and his sessions in the workshop is full with great advices and teaching. His recommended some books to read such as the Business School & Rich Dad Poor Dad (Robert Kiyosaki), Copycat Marketing, Parable of Pipelines as well as Cd's such as Time to Change (by Jim Dornan).
